Plymouth Businesses Join CHSW for Bubbles

Ocean Studios at Royal William Yard in Plymouth was the venue for Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) networking event on Thursday 10th May.

The event was set up to give local business people the opportunity to network with each other while also finding out about the work the local children’s charity does in supporting children with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Speakers on the evening included members of the Fundraising Team from CHSW’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell, along with Claire Kilbey – Head of Care at Little Harbour, Jason

Businesses Back Newquay Rainbow Run

Four more businesses have shown their support for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by each sponsoring a paint station at the charity’s upcoming Rainbow Run in Newquay.

The main event sponsor for Rainbow Run is Anns Cottage however Biffa Cornwall, Happy Days Nurseries, Cornwall Training and Consultancy and Steve Andrews Tyres & Autocare have each donated towards the sponsorship of the paint stations at the colourful event.

CHSW Children’s Nurse will be riding for precious lives this summer

When you’ve only cycled a total of 60 miles before, taking on Children’s Hospice South West’s epic 205-mile Ride for Precious Lives event could be a massive challenge, but nurse Jo Bingham is determined to give something back to the charity.

Business People Raise the Bail for CHSW

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) held its annual Jail and Bail fundraising event at Plymouth Guildhall on Friday 27 th April which raised an amazing £17,233 on the day with the total still climbing.

11 local business people took part in the event which involved individuals getting arrested and put on trial for fictitious crimes including murdering karaoke songs, excessive work socials and stealing everyone’s share of chocolates.

'Me run, never. So why did I decide to run the Bristol 10k for CHSW? That’s easy to answer.

‘My son Daniel passed away 7 years ago aged 9, he had special needs and required 24-hour care. The hospice gave respite to myself and my husband Chris so we could have some time together knowing our son was being looked after by the fantastic caring nurses and staff at Charlton Farm.

GA Solicitors Announced as Bubble Rush Sponsor

Plymouth law firm, GA Solicitors, has been confirmed as the main sponsor of Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Bubble Rush. The event will be returning to Newnham Park on Sunday 23 September to raise vital funds for CHSW.

Following the success of last year’s Bubble Rush, which saw 1200 people take part and raised £40,000 in sponsorship as well as awareness of the charity, CHSW is excited to bring it back in 2018.

Sponsorship from GA Solicitors means that even more of the money raised by those taking part will go towards the care and support offered to children and families by the charity

CHSW is pleased to announce it has taken some practical steps to ensure its mass participation events are more environmentally friendly. This year CHSW is holding its much-loved Rainbow Run in three locations: Bristol, Exeter and Newquay. It’s a 5k family-friendly fun run, which raises tens of thousands of pounds for the charity. Bristol companies support Rainbow Run

Four companies with a local presence are joining forces to sponsor the annual CHSW Rainbow Run in Bristol on Saturday 2 nd June.

Osborne Clarke, Fiveways Financial Planning, PB Design and Unum have each sponsored a paint station at this family-friendly 5k run that’s taking place in the beautiful grounds of Blaise Castle Estate.

Local surf and lifestyle retailer Ann’s Cottage has been confirmed as the main sponsor for Children’s Hospice South West’s Rainbow Run in Newquay which raises vital funds for CHSW and its Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.

Ann’s Cottage has sponsored the 5 km fun run since its first year in 2014 and its sponsorship means that more of the money raised by those taking part can go straight to the charity rather than going towards event costs.

Edwards Vacuum Sponsor 10th Ride for Precious Lives

Edwards Vacuum (part of the Atlas Copco Group) is a global engineering company based in Clevedon and is generously sponsoring Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) 10 th Ride for Precious Lives event.

The Ride for Precious Lives is a 205 mile, 3 day, cycling challenge which has been completed by over 750 cyclists over the last nine years and raised an incredible £725,000 for CHSW.

Ride for Precious Lives will be taking place 6 th – 8 th July and encompasses all three of CHSW’s children’s hospices across the south west region. It will start at Little Harbour in Cornwall, visit Little Bridge
