Team Kitley to walk on fire

A team from Kitley House Hotel in Yealmpton near Plymouth will be taking part in Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Firewalk which is happening at Kitley House Hotel on Thursday 7 th November.

The Firewalk is a sponsored event which will give people the chance to push their boundaries and challenge perceptions by walking along a path of hot coals at temperatures of 1200˚F while raising vital funds for CHSW.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is bringing a Firewalk to Cabot Circus in Bristol on Wednesday 20 November and is inviting brave individuals to take on the challenge.

The Firewalk will give people the chance to push their boundaries and walk along a path of hot coals at temperatures of 1200˚F. Sponsorship raised by participants will go towards helping CHSW support over 220 families in the area whose children have been diagnosed with life-limiting conditions. Local residents, businesses and the Portishead Ramblers joined staff and volunteers from local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) for their Summer Ramble in the beautiful surroundings of CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice at the weekend to raise vital funds for the charity.

A North Devon grandmother is in training for an ‘enormous’ 205-mile cycle challenge across the West Country in memory of her younger sister and ‘best friend’.

Louise Lessiter is one of the first participants to sign up to take part in Children’s Hospice South West’s Ride for Precious Lives 2020 – and despite having hardly cycled since her sister Cathy’s death in 1980, is determined to complete the challenge and raise money to enable the charity to provide the bereavement support that was unavailable when she needed it nearly 40 years ago.

Andrew Lincoln joins cyclists on 205-mile fundraising ride for children’s hospice

More than 70 cyclists have whizzed through the West Country on a 205-mile three-day charity challenge to raise thousands of pounds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The 11 th annual Ride for Precious Lives set off from the charity’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell on Friday morning and headed to Little Bridge House in North Devon, before finishing at Charlton Farm in North Somerset on Sunday afternoon.

This year’s event featured 72 cyclists from all over the South West, who were joined by well-known TV and film star Andrew Lincoln, star of the hit TV series The Walking

Fred Thomas, AKA Skinners Brewery mascot Betty Stogs, has had a busy start to the year training for, and taking part in, the London Marathon all in aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Little Harbour hosted the start of Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) annual Ride for Precious Lives today.

72 cyclists left Little Harbour in St Austell; one of the charity’s three children’s hospices in the south west, embarking on a 205 mile cycle and hoping to raise around £75,000 for CHSW.

Rainbow runners make colourful splash at Exeter’s Westpoint

Exeter’s Westpoint showground was given a colourful makeover on Saturday as families from across the region took part in Children’s Hospice South West’s Rainbow Run.

Around 1,000 people took part in the charity’s flagship summer fundraising event, raising thousands of pounds for the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice in North Devon.

Rainbow Runners Raise Pot of Gold for CHSW

RAF St Mawgan was covered in all colours of the rainbow on Sunday at Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) 6 th annual Rainbow Run sponsored by Ann’s Cottage. The day also marked the last day of Children’s Hospice Week – a national awareness week for children’s hospices across the country.

1500 people of all ages took part, running, jogging and walking the 5k route around RAF St Mawgan’s training ground where they didn’t let the Cornish rain dampen spirits as they got covered in different coloured powder paint along the way.

Organisers of the event from CHSW hope the Rainbow Run will raise
