End of life care

When a baby, child or young person is at one of our hospices for end of life care, we will work closely together to meet their and their family's needs in a holistic way. This includes specialist medical advice, but also opportunities for key conversations and memory making, emotional and spiritual support for all the family and specialist sibling support.

Families may also wish to stay at home or in a hospital and then come to the hospice after their child has died. Whatever the family decides our Care Team can offer support, advice and practical help whether at home or in the hospice.

At the hospice we were a complete family, and were able to support each other, and make some unforgettable memories

Starborn at Littler Bridge House

Starborn

Some families choose to take up the offer of a Starborn bereavement stay. Starborn is our special room where a child can lie after their death, allowing family and friends to have a very peaceful and private space in which to say their goodbyes at their own pace.

The room is comforting and peaceful and can be personalised for each child by being filled with their most loved toys, or with their favourite music playing.

Fred passed away and we feel lucky that he had a chance to experience some peace in the beautiful setting that is Little Bridge House.
