Charity shop has huge prom dress collection for school leavers

Children’s Hospice South West's Honiton charity shop is offering students to chance to be the belle of the ball at their school prom without breaking the bank.

The shop in the High Street currently has around 40 second-hand dresses in stock, with prices starting at just £20.

Manager Lynne Whitehall recently advertised a collection of wedding dresses for sale and hopes that the prom dresses will be just as popular for students on a shoestring.

Shop move offers enhanced shopping experience in Wellington High Street

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has opened a new shop in Wellington High Street.

The charity has moved from its original home in Fore Street to bigger and better premises in the former Costa Coffee store, which closed in April last year. 

The ribbon was officially cut this morning by CHSW co-founder and chief executive Eddie Farwell, who said the shop would raise vital funds for local children with life-limiting conditions and their families. 

Charity shop stocks bumper range of beautiful wedding dresses

The Children’s Hospice South West charity shop in Honiton is offering brides-to-be the chance to pick up a dream wedding dress with a dream price tag.

The shop in the High Street currently has around 25 second-hand dresses in stock, as well as range of bridesmaid dresses, children’s wedding outfits and accessories, including shoes and veils.

Lusty Glaze is “overwhelmed” by local generosity in aid of Children’s Hospice South West 

The annual toy amnesty held by Lusty Glaze Beach in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has hit record donations this year. 

Successfully completing its fourth year, the team at Lusty Glaze encouraged people to ‘swap toys for tea’ by asking them to bring any unwanted children's items down to the beach throughout January in exchange for a free cup of tea or coffee.

The charity has moved from its original home next door to HSBC to bigger and better premises in the former BrightHouse store, opposite Primark.

The ribbon was officially cut on Friday morning by CHSW co-founder and chief executive Eddie Farwell, who said the shop would raise vital funds for local children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Honiton charity shop celebrates 10 ‘wonderful’ years in town

Staff and volunteers at Honiton’s Children’s Hospice South West charity shop celebrated the shop’s 10th birthday this week.

The shop in the High Street opened its doors on December 16, 2010 and has been well-supported by people in the town, raising thousands of pounds for the charity, which offers vital respite care to children and families all over the South West.

In that time, more than 70,000 bags of goods have been donated to sell in the shop, and countless volunteers have donated thousands of hours of their time.

Children’s Hospice South West is looking forward to being able to reopen its charity shops next week, but in the meantime it is urging people thinking about having a pre-Christmas or lockdown de-clutter to donate any unwanted goods. 

Brixham charity shop celebrates five fantastic years

Staff, volunteers and customers at Children’s Hospice South West’s Brixham charity shop have been celebrating a successful first five years in the town.

The shop in Fore Street opened in February 2015 and has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to support local children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

More than 26,000 bags of donated goods have been sorted, with 54,000 pre-loved items given a new lease of life. Volunteers have donated nearly 26,000 hours to support the shop.
