Remember with a smile

We understand how important it is to celebrate the lives of those we love; remembering what made them truly unique and special.

Whether it’s setting up a  Smile tribute page, leaving a gift in your Will, taking part in our Moonlight Memory Walk, or simply making a donation in lieu of flowers at their funeral, you will be helping to make the most of short and precious lives.  Celebrate a smile worth remembering with a gift of kindness.

Leo

Children’s Hospice South West helped us in the darkest moment of our lives. We’ll always be grateful, and we’ll keep doing whatever we can to give back.
Our goal is to provide more support for families, raise awareness of undiagnosed and rare childhood diseases, and keep Leo’s name alive in the process

How giving in memory helps families

Your gift in memory enables us to provide a warm, supportive range of remembering activities for bereaved families throughout the year across our three hospices. All are designed to offer comfort, connection, and space to remember in whatever way feels right for each family.

Connecting

Outdoor meetups for bereaved parents provide them time to reflect, walk and talk, and engage in the benefits of nature. Regular bereavement groups for parents and creative support sessions for siblings create opportunities for them to connect with others who understand.

Remembering

Annual remembering events are held and families are also welcomed to visit our hospices at meaningful times such as birthdays or anniversaries. Each hospice has a Book of Remembrance which is a meaningful and decorate way for parents to share their child’s name and memory.

Grief Chat

We know that grief doesn’t follow a clear path and can be challenging to navigate. Sometimes it can be easier to talk with someone outside of your family and friends. GriefChat offers a safe space for you to share your story with a qualified bereavement counsellor and discuss how grief is impacting you. They will also be able to help find you any additional support you may need.

Grief chat is a completely free service available Monday-Friday, 9.00am-9.00pm. Simply click on the icon at the bottom right hand corner of the screen to start your conversation.
