Equality, diversity and inclusion

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is committed to leading and promoting diversity, equal opportunities and inclusivity, and supporting human rights in terms of the provision of its services within the communities it serves and in its practice as an employer.

CHSW is committed to the principle of equal opportunities in employment and recognises its obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and declares its opposition to any form of less favourable treatment, whether through direct or indirect, associated or perceived discrimination accorded to CHSW staff, or job applicants, on the grounds of their, race/nationality or ethnic origin, disability, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, (otherwise known as ‘protected characteristics’ as defined by the Equality Act 2010), including Human Rights.

CHSW is committed to creating a positive culture of respect for all CHSW staff and to promote positive practice and value the diversity of all individuals and communities.

CHSW embraces and recognises the importance of diversity and that different people bring different perspectives, ideas, knowledge and culture, and that this difference brings great strength as well as contributing to employee well-being and engagement.

Our aim is to create a culture that respects and values each person’s differences, that promotes dignity, equality, diversity and inclusivity, and that encourages individuals to develop and maximise their true potential.

We expect commitment and involvement from all CHSW staff, partners and providers of goods and services in working towards the achievement of our aim.
