A business advisory firm with roots in South Molton and Holsworthy is launching a year-long fundraising drive to support Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Baldwins’ offices on Pathfields Business Park, South Molton and Fry Street, Holsworthy have pledged their fundraising to the hospice after staff voted for CHSW to be the firm’s charity of the year.

CHSW offers vital care and respite to more than 550 children with life-limiting conditions and their whole families at its three hospices in North Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. It costs around £10million a year to run the three hospices, the

Delamore Art and Sculpture Exhibition will be opening on 1 st May bringing a month of artistic delights to Delamore house and gardens at Cornwood near Ivybridge for all to enjoy.

This is the 17 th year of the annual event which presents the largest collection of artist’s work in one place in the south west. Last year around 150 artists exhibited work and a record 8,000 people visited the historic estate in Cornwood on the southern edge of Dartmoor to view the pieces displayed in both the gardens and the house.

Over the last two years, staff at the Costain office in Yatton have been supporting local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Their collective efforts have resulted in an impressive £7,425.15 being raised.

The team at Costain have embarked upon a variety of fundraising activities including the 3 Peaks Challenge in South Wales, a 5k Bubble Rush fun run to office tuck shops and annual raffles. Staff have also been giving their time volunteering at the charity’s shops in both Bristol and Glastonbury.

The Bristol arm of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has begun fundraising for its chosen charity of the year, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

To kick-start their fundraising a team took part in a Bush tucker Trial, which included: devouring a shot glass of meal worms and buffalo worms, followed by crickets, locusts, grasshoppers and scorpions. The final round involved consuming a combination of Stilton cheese with a topping of mushed banana, taramasalata and Seafood Sauce! A Spring Festival recently held at St Erth Parish Church as a celebration of the Cornish daffodil has raised £3840 which is being split between Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and St Erth Parish Church.

The Church opened its doors for over 1000 people who visited and admired the various displays of daffodils over the three-day festival which finished on Mothering Sunday.

The perfect spring weather and immaculate gardens provided a wonderful backdrop for the annual conference, attended by groups from across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

An international fundraising collaboration by Rotarians in Bideford and Germany has raised nearly £40,000 for Children’s Hospice South West.
