2020 Virgin Money London Marathon postponed
The race organisers of the Virgin Money London Marathon announced the event that was rescheduled to take place on Sunday 4 October 2020 is cancelled. Instead they will host a race for elite runners on an enclosed loop this year. Next year’s marathon will take place on Sunday 3 October 2021 to allow maximum chance of the event taking place. There is also the opportunity for runners with a 2020 place to be part of the 40th race by completing the 26.2-mile marathon distance on Sunday 4 October from home or wherever you are on a course of your choice.
In addition, all runners will also be able to defer their place to a future London Marathon in 2021, 2022 or 2023.
We will be in touch with all our runners very soon. Please do bear with us as there are many factors outside of our control that will affect decisions going forward. Thank you so much for your patience and support.
The Virgin Money London Marathon has always been an incredible event and we can’t thank our runners enough for their dedication and the effort that has gone into their training and fundraising.
