Andrew Buckle from Bradley Stoke and his dog Raff will be raising some Christmas cheer in their festive gear by taking part in Santas on the Run - goes freestyle, on 13th December.

Gordano Sharks U13s rugby team and teams from Portishead Town FC are getting involved with Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Santas on the Run goes freestyle! event.

Due to the pandemic, the charity has turned its annual festive Santas on the Run ‘virtual’ and is encouraging as many people as possible to get involved the weekend of 11-13 December. 

If you find yourself running out of space at home and you can’t find your stuff because of – well, all of your stuff! – it could be time for a bit of a clear-out! 

Children’s Hospice South West is looking forward to being able to reopen its charity shops next week, but in the meantime it is urging people thinking about having a pre-Christmas or lockdown de-clutter to donate any unwanted goods. 

Rosemellin Community Primary School in Camborne is one of many Cornish schools getting involved with Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Santas on the Run goes Freestyle event.

The charity has turned Santas on the Run, its annual festive fundraiser usually held at Eden, virtual and is encouraging as many people as possible to get involved between 11 – 13 December. 

As people across the UK settle into Lockdown 2, and new tiered restrictions, Children’s Hospice South West is delighted to announce that their team has been in super-secret discussions with Santa’s helpful elves. 

Just as everyone has to find new ways to make the most magical things happen in this ‘new normal’, Santa recognises that children coming to visit him in a grotto during a global pandemic probably isn’t a wise idea.

Over the weekend of 4 – 6 December motorbike lovers across the South West are being asked to don their festive attire and take part in Santas on a Bike to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and its three children’s hospices; Little Bridge House, Charlton Farm and Little Harbour.&nbs

A South Devon granddad will be helping to add a welcome dose of festive cheer to his village this December when he flicks the switch on a colossal Christmas lights display at his home in Churchstow.

Mike Langman is already hard at work decorating his house in time for the big switch on at 4.30pm on December 1, and the former ambulanceman hopes this year’s display will shine brighter than ever in aid of his chosen charity Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Despite the pandemic, Bathavon Rotary Club is continuing to actively support projects in the community and has generously donated £5,000 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

On Friday 13 November The Willingham family, supported by Little Harbour children's hospice, featured on the BBC Children in Need appeal show.

People in North Devon are being invited to remember someone they love this Christmas, while supporting the vital work of the region’s two hospice charities.

For 24 years, the annual Light Up a Life appeal has given people the chance to come together and light a candle in memory of loved ones at a series of special church services in support of North Devon Hospice (NDH) in Barnstaple, and Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) in Fremington.
