Business People Raise the Bail for CHSW

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) held its annual Jail and Bail fundraising event at Plymouth Guildhall on Friday 27 th April which raised an amazing £17,233 on the day with the total still climbing.

11 local business people took part in the event which involved individuals getting arrested and put on trial for fictitious crimes including murdering karaoke songs, excessive work socials and stealing everyone’s share of chocolates.

Prisoners included Andy Price from Bright Solicitors, Dan Stones from 5D Construction, Darren Lawson from Mansbridge Balment, Dean Bennett from China Fleet Country

Join CHSW for an evening of entertainment with the fabulous Ultimate Bublé!

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has a special evening of entertainment lined up at the stunning Woolhanger Manor near Parracombe on Saturday 2 June, with the highlight of the evening being a performance from the renowned Ultimate Bublé - the UK’s leading Michael Bublé tribute artist.

The magnificent renovated Manor House, with its picturesque setting, is the perfect venue for a summer concert. The evening will start with a glass of fizz and canapés on the lawn, which boasts panoramic views of the beautiful Exmoor

'Me run, never. So why did I decide to run the Bristol 10k for CHSW? That’s easy to answer.

‘My son Daniel passed away 7 years ago aged 9, he had special needs and required 24-hour care. The hospice gave respite to myself and my husband Chris so we could have some time together knowing our son was being looked after by the fantastic caring nurses and staff at Charlton Farm.

‘Not only did they look after Daniel’s needs but also ours. They were there when I needed someone to talk 24/7, I was never judged

GA Solicitors Announced as Bubble Rush Sponsor

Plymouth law firm, GA Solicitors, has been confirmed as the main sponsor of Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Bubble Rush. The event will be returning to Newnham Park on Sunday 23 September to raise vital funds for CHSW.

Following the success of last year’s Bubble Rush, which saw 1200 people take part and raised £40,000 in sponsorship as well as awareness of the charity, CHSW is excited to bring it back in 2018.

Sponsorship from GA Solicitors means that even more of the money raised by those taking part will go towards the care and support offered to children and families by the charity

Skydive is on the Horizon for St Erth Team

Ten members of the construction team involved with the building of St Erth Multi Modal Hub at the train station in St Erth will be taking on a charity skydive to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) while changing the perceptions of their industry.

The team is made up of colleagues from Wills Bros Civil Engineering as well as Ward Williams Associates and they have set themselves a target of raising £5000 for CHSW. On the team is: Stuart Angus, Kieran Mooney, Anna Kelly, Sean Vesey, David Lynch, Garikai Simango, Curtis Harrold, Seamus Harrold, Kieren Couch & Mick

CHSW is pleased to announce it has taken some practical steps to ensure its mass participation events are more environmentally friendly. This year CHSW is holding its much-loved Rainbow Run in three locations: Bristol, Exeter and Newquay. It’s a 5k family-friendly fun run, which raises tens of thousands of pounds for the charity. 40 year old Cerwyn Burnett from St Mawes is in full preparation for her 96 mile sponsored walk across the West Highland Way in Scotland later this month and is taking on this challenge to help raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) which supported her family through an incredibly difficult time.

Last year, ‘Tayen’s Rainbow Racers’ helped raise vital funds for Charlton Farm and here’s why…

Tayen from Bridgwater is six years old and has a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 1. The condition is incurable and causes tumours to grow on nerves anywhere in her body. She has complex epilepsy, hydrocephalus and is fully blind. Tayen has already endured two rounds of chemotherapy and will need more at some point in the future.
