A couple in Cleeve, Somerset, will be opening their home for people to browse local crafts and enjoy a cream team for charity.
Kind-hearted Bridgwater man John Holman, aged 87, has been making wooden toys for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) for more than three years.
John chose to support CHSW after he visited the charity’s Charlton Farm hospice in North Somerset several years ago. John said: “It was a real eye opener, the place is absolutely beautiful.”
Mark Veale from Berkeley in Gloucestershire will be attempting his first ever ultra-marathon in support of Children’s Hospice South West on June 19-20.
Mark discovered a love for running two years ago. Over that time he’s made fantastic progress and recently completed his first ever full marathon race distance of 26.2 miles.
Mark said: “Now it’s time to take it to the next stage; time to stop messing about and get serious.”
Roseland House Garden in Chacewater near Truro will be welcoming people through it’s gates on 19 – 20 June in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The garden, which surrounds an old mine captains house, is about one acre in size and features a lot of climbing plants from rambling roses to clematis and many others. A Victorian conservatory also provides shelter for the tender climbers and a wide range of scented leaf Pelargoniums.
Families from across Cornwall and Plymouth that are supported by Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell are being invited for free sessions at Mylor Sailing and Powerboat School courtesy of the charity Mylor Sailability.
Ollie Lee from Seaton has set himself the mammoth challenge of running 45 miles across Cornwall, from Padstow to Seaton, in memory of his niece’s daughter Phoebe Hoskin.
Warren Lodge Garden in Mary Tavy near Tavistock will be welcoming people through it’s gates this summer in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The garden will be open on Sunday 6 June, Sunday 4 July and Sunday 1 August. Bookings are being taken for each day with arrival slots available at 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm.
