CHSW £50 Challenge champions Old Mill to sponsor 25th Anniversary challenge

West Country accountants and financial planners Old Mill are sponsoring Children’s Hospice South West’s 2016 £50 challenge in a bid to raise £25,000 for the North Devon based charity.

The £50 Challenge is an annual event where local businesses compete against each other to turn a £50 start-up investment into as much money as they can over a three month time frame – April to June – with all money raised going directly to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

GKN Aerospace Filton and Western Approach have been raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by rising to the £50 challenge!

CHSW’s £50 Challenge is all about companies using their business skills and innovation to generate as much money as possible for the charity. CHSW provides the initial £50 start-up investment and then it’s over to your company to raise as much as it can. This is a great way for people to put their business brain and money-making acumen to the test to grow this amount as much as legally and ethically possible.

LV= delivers bespoke minibus to Children's Hospice South West

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) can continue to support local families after receiving a brand new bespoke minibus as part of LV= Brokers’ BIG HEART Charity Giveaway.

The charity, which provides respite and specialist care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, won the LV= Broker minibus through an online vote by the insurer’s broker partners after it was nominated by South West broker, Higos Insurance Services.

Frank Fielding, Joe Bryan, Mark Little, Korey Smith and Jamie Paterson visited Bridge Learning Campus on Wednesday to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Charlton Farm - Children’s Hospice South West.

The local school has been working tirelessly to raise funds for the charity over the course of the academic year, and their efforts have seen them raise £1,000.

A decade of helping children with life-limiting conditions is being marked in 2017.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) was set up more than 25 years ago when Eddie and Jill Farwell came up with the idea to create a children’s hospice to help families in the South West.

The first hospice to be built was Little Bridge House in Devon in 1995, but it was soon oversubscribed.

In 2002 the charity launched The Babe Appeal to raise £11million to build Charlton Farm in Wraxall.

Cornwall Glass Redruth has recently donated £1,008 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Cornwall Glass Redruth has recently donated £1,008 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The donation was raised through an open day held in December for existing customers and the general public. Mince pies and mulled wine were enjoyed as well as a Christmas raffle which visitors could enter, as well as customers and colleagues from across all branches of the business.

Hospice to benefit from RGB Building Supplies

RGB Building Supplies, which has stores in Holsworthy and Bude, have announced it has selected Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as its chosen charity for 2017.

RGB had a phenomenal response to its ‘Christmas Present Appeal’ in aid of CHSW at the end of 2016, when more than 250 gifts were donated by RGB customers and staff. The builders merchants have now said it is looking forward to continuing this support for CHSW.

This year, RGB staff will be taking part in a number of CHSW fundraising activities and will also be holding regular events to boost the amount raised.

Donate old clothes and bag a bargain at shopping event at Princesshay in Exeter

Shoppers are being urged to donate their out-of-season fashions for a good cause at a south west shopping centre.

From 30 March, the Princesshay Centre in Exeter will be collecting clothing in support of the Children’s Hospice South West as part of the Spring Spree event.

The centre will then continue the clothing drop with CHSW throughout 2017.
