Six representatives from the local community were arrested, put on trial and locked up for their fictitious crimes on Friday when they took part in Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Jail and Bail fundraiser in Bodmin.

Passers-by had to look twice as they saw the six being marched through Bodmin town centre on their way to their mock trial at Bodmin Jail. Staff at Thomas Westcott have raised more than £11,000 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) during an ‘incredible’ year of fundraising for the charity.

The independent accountancy firm, which has 17 offices and 250 members of staff across Devon and Somerset, chose to support CHSW in 2021, the charity’s 30th anniversary year.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has opened a new shop in Wellington High Street.

The charity has moved from its original home in Fore Street to bigger and better premises in the former Costa Coffee store, which closed in April last year.
