Snowdrop Sunday
Enjoy Snowdrop Sunday at Andrews Corner
People are being invited to enjoy an early taste of spring in a colourful corner of Dartmoor.
Thousands of snowdrops – as well as early crocus, dwarf daffodils and hellebores – are expected to be in bloom for the annual Andrews Corner ‘Snowdrop Sunday’ at Andrews Corner, Skaigh Lane, Belstone, Okehampton EX20 1RD on Sunday 14 February from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
The woodland garden, situated high on the northern slopes of Dartmoor, offers spectacular views across the Skaigh Valley. It was created over the last 50 years by the Hill family and is now home to over100 different snowdrop cultivars, both common and the more unusual.
There will be sales of snowdrops, hellebores and cyclamen. CHSW goods will also be on sale, as well as hot soup, cheese scones, bacon baps, hot drinks and cakes. Indoor space will also be available for those who prefer to view the garden or consume refreshments in relative warmth.
- Well signed through the village, with parking in a nearby field
- Dogs on leads welcome
- Wheelchair access to parts of the garden.
Andrews Corner
Situated on the northern edge of Dartmoor at approximately one thousand feet above sea level, Andrews Corner derives its unique character from the contrast between the rugged grandeur of the open moor and the verdant serenity of a cultivated garden.
The garden has been open under the National Garden Scheme since 1972 and, in more recent years, also for Children's Hospice South West.
