Magical Narnia-themed gala to celebrate 30 years of children’s hospice

The 30th anniversary gala dinner in Exeter

Children’s Hospice South West supporters in Devon have celebrated 30 years of the charity at a magical gala dinner in Exeter.

The Narnia-themed evening at Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club on November 12 raised nearly £12,000 for the charity, while giving guests the chance to look back on three decades of incredible care for local families.

The Christmas tree-lined ball room – a nod to the Narnia sensory garden at the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice near Barnstaple – added extra sparkle to a special anniversary evening.

Guests were entertained by a roaming magician before enjoying a three-course dinner, followed by speeches and an auction, raffle and live music. CHSW Director of Fundraising Paul Courtney

CHSW Co-Founder and Chief Executive Eddie Farwell spoke about the journey he and his wife Jill had embarked upon in 1991 and the love that people across the South West had shown to help them establish the charity and help families such as their own.

Emma Perry, head of fundraising at Little Bridge House said: “It was a unique evening and a fabulous opportunity to celebrate a wonderful milestone and remember that together, we can continue to create more memories for local families to cherish for another 30 years.
