Powering Hope: Renewable Energy Company raises £15,000 for local children’s hospice in 12 Months

In 2024, Ethical Power, a leader in the renewable energy industry, chose Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as their charity of the year, kicking off an exciting year of fundraising challenges. The company raised over £15,000 through a series of fun and engaging events.

Staff at Ethical Power took part in a variety of activities to support the charity, including the challenging Three Peaks hike, the Bristol 10k, cycling challenges, bake sales, and raffles, all of which contributed to the total funds raised.

Children’s Hospice South West welcomes new CEO

After founding the charity with his late wife Jill in 1991, and following 20 years as Chief Executive, Co-Founder and former CEO Eddie Farwell has handed over the reins to the charity's new CEO. 

In late 2024, Eddie Farwell announced his plans to retire with a heartfelt letter to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) supporters and on 17 March 2025 Phil Morris steps into the role of CEO at CHSW.  

On his appointment Phil says;

The team at The Channel Partnership are taking on an exciting challenge this spring. On Saturday 5 April, they’ll be hiking up the iconic Pen Y Fan to raise vital funds for their long-time partner charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Since 2021, The Channel Partnership have been a passionate supporter of CHSW, raising over £7000 through a series of fundraising events and lending a helping hand in volunteer work throughout 2024.

Charity lottery win paves way to the Big Apple

A £1,000 lottery win, enables a mum and daughter to go on their dream trip to New York to celebrate her daughter’s thirtieth birthday.

Local businesswoman, Kim Lahiri, will be jetting off to the Big Apple in March with her daughter after winning £1,000 in the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) weekly lottery draw.

Kim, a natural perfumer, skincare and plant extract specialist, from St Austell was totally surprised when she was informed of her big win.
