A tale of 12 halves

Bob-and-Jamie-in-Clevedon

At the end of 2018, two members of Clevedon-based Triangle Networks visited their local children’s hospice – Charlton Farm in Wraxall - having decided they were going to run a half marathon and raise funds to support the cause. They came away from their visit inspired to do more and pledged to take on, not just one, but 12 half marathons!Bob-at-Bath-Half

Jamie said: “We wanted to do a challenge that was exactly that, a challenge! By doing something a bit crazy we hoped it would attract more sponsorship and help more people hear about Children’s Hospice South West.

We wanted to do a challenge that was exactly that, a challenge! By doing something a bit crazy we hoped it would attract more sponsorship and help more people hear about Children’s Hospice South West.

Visiting the hospice, seeing the facilities ourselves and meeting the staff, it was clear to see their passion and commitment to helping families facing the unimaginable. We learned about how much money in donations CHSW relies on to keep going each year and thought we could help in some way.”

Bob said: “The visit to Charlton Farm really motivated us to raise money and awareness. Hopefully our little crazy challenge will inspire others to do something to help too.”

Amanda Gallagher, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW said: “Bob and Jamie have accomplished what they set out to do 12 months ago and we are very grateful for their support. They certainly have a lot of medals to show for it and we’re sure they will have inspired others to do something incredible for CHSW in 2020.
