Statement from Children's Hospice South West on the death of Her Majesty The Queen

Queen Elizabeth II

It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Her Majesty, The Queen. Our thoughts are very much with The Royal Family at this very sad time, and we send our heartfelt condolences to them and to everyone affected by this news.

We thank Her Majesty for her wonderful service to so many, for so long. And though our hearts are heavy, we hold dear our precious memories of a remarkable monarch who gave so much to our nation.

During this period of national mourning, Children’s Hospice South West will continue its mission to provide care for local families wherever, whenever and however they need us.

Following the announcement that Monday 19 September 2022 will be a Bank Holiday for the State Funeral of her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, where possible CHSW will pause non-essential services as a mark of respect. Therefore, our offices and retail shops will be closed, and fundraising activities will cease on this day.  Our care services will be operational, and we will continue to support families during this difficult time.
