Kick off your Christmas celebrations with CHSW’s festive fun run and train ride
Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) annual festive fun run returns for its 2nd year at Plym Valley Railway in Plymbridge on Saturday 28 November. The event invites participants of all ages keen to kick off their Christmas celebrations and raise thousands for CHSW and its Little Harbour children’s hospice.
Santas on the Train sees participants enjoy a festive train ride complete with entertainment on the Lord Oliver Brown Locomotive, which transports them to the start line of a festive 3k fun run route at Plymbridge.
It is the perfect event to get family, friends or even work colleagues involved in, with everyone taking part getting a medal to wear proudly in the lead up to Christmas.
Spaces for this event is limited to 120 per wave, with waves throughout the day at 11am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.
“We cannot wait to welcome people from Plymouth and beyond back to Plym Valley for the 2nd time!”, said Kiley Pearce, Events Fundraiser for CHSW.
Last year was an amazing debut for the event and we’re thrilled to be bringing the magic back! Taking part in Santas on the Run is a great way to mark the start of festive celebrations. It really gets people in the Christmas spirit while supporting their local children’s hospice; Little Harbour, which will be continuing to offer care to families 24/7 throughout the festive season.
“We’d also like to say a big thank you to local company AtkinsRéalis for being the main sponsor of the event again this year.”
Everyone is encouraged to get as creative as possible with their festive costumes. Whether you want to sleigh it like Santa, rock it like Rudolph or twinkle like a Christmas tree this is your chance to embrace all things Christmas and all for a good cause.
