Panto proceeds support children’s charity
A local theatre group has donated funds to support young people with life-limiting conditions.
Following their production of the pantomime Puss In Boots over four performances at Lympstone Village Hall in December, Lympstone Players decided to donate some of the proceeds to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). The Players formally presented the donation in Lympstone last Saturday (16 January).
Suitably dressed as the King and Queen from Puss In Boots (parts played in the show by John Baynes and Julia Crockett), Bruce Ellis, who directed the pantomime, and Players Treasurer Judy Eaton presented a cheque for £600 to CHSW area fundraiser Henrietta Olssen.
“We are delighted with the incredible support from Lympstone Players,” said Henrietta. “The pantomime was fantastic, and raising £600 for us is a great achievement.
“The funds raised will help support babies, children, young people and their families when they need it most, through the vital services of Children’s Hospice South West.”
“We try to support a local charity following each of our productions,” said Bruce. “The Puss In Boots cast included a dozen under-16s from Lympstone and the local area, so the children’s hospice seemed to be a very fitting choice of charity this year.”
