Amanda Robertson, manager of the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) shop in Tavistock, took fundraising to another level, by embarking on the Two Ball Banger Rally along Route 6 all the way to Scotland, dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.

Amanda and her husband, who joined her as the Wizard himself, set off from the Tavistock shop on (insert date) in a car decorated with heartfelt artwork created by children and families from CHSW’s three hospices: Little Harbour, Little Bridge House, and Charlton Farm. Amanda had sent special paper and pens to each hospice, inviting families to contribute drawings that were then proudly displayed on the rally car.

The rally route took the couple on a whirlwind journey across the country, visiting each of the CHSW hospices before heading north to Scotland. Their colourful costumes and creatively adorned car turned heads and warmed hearts along the way.

So far, Amanda has raised an incredible £1,000 for Children’s Hospice South West, helping to support the charity’s vital work providing care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Annabel Roberts, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, said:

This has been an unforgettable adventure for the pair! They have done something so fun, but also so meaningful. Seeing the children’s artwork on the car was a real reminder of why we do what we do.

Donations are still being accepted, and Amanda hopes to raise even more as her journey continues to inspire.
