Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is offering keen cyclists a 10% early bird discount to sign up for its 2026 Ride for Precious Lives event before 1 November 2025.

Ride for Precious Lives is the charity’s 3 day cycling challenge which sees cyclists take on 200 miles of challenging, yet stunning, terrain through the heart of the South West, which raised a record-breaking £349,000 this year.

This inspiring event takes place again from 10 – 12 July 2026 and connects all 3 of CHSW’s children’s hospices. It starts at Charlton Farm in North Somerset, travels to Little Bridge House in Barnstaple on day 2 and finishes at Little Harbour in St Austell on the final day.

More than just a physical challenge, it’s an emotional one for many too. The 100+ group of riders are often joined by long-term supporters of the charity, family members of children supported by CHSW’s hospices and teams from local businesses. The camaraderie of the riders grows and grows over the weekend as they tackle each hill together.

Past participants often describe Ride for Precious Lives as one of the most meaningful and rewarding events they’ve ever taken part in.

One rider said, “When this weekend comes around, it’s the best weekend of the year for me.”

Another dedicated supporter shared;

We have done this since 2017. As long as I have air in my lungs and my legs still work, I will keep coming back and fundraising for this amazing charity.

And for many, the ride becomes an annual tradition: “When the weekend ends, I am already thinking about next year.”

“This is a truly unique event,” said Kiley Pearce, Events Fundraiser at CHSW.

Cyclists push themselves physically and emotionally, inspired by the children and families they’re riding for. Every mile really does make a difference so if you are even a little bit interested in taking part next year, please get in touch to find out more.

Participants must be prepared to ride 70–80 miles per day, including several challenging climbs. This event is ideal for those looking for a meaningful endurance challenge.

Clevedon based firm Edwards Vacuum have been committed sponsors of the event for the past 12 years. Their sponsorship helps to cover essential costs of putting the event on.

Neil Mehta, General Manager at Edwards Vacuum, said:

We’re incredibly proud to support Ride for Precious Lives both financially and through our team’s participation. It’s a privilege to help make this event possible, knowing that every penny raised goes directly to the hospice and the families who rely on its care.

Participants will receive 10% off the full price of £399 when signing up before 01 November 2025.
