Children’s Hospice South West Families Shine on the Runway at Strength in Style Fashion Show in Bath

30 September 2025 CHSW

Families supported by Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), along with members of the charity’s dedicated care team, took centre stage at last night’s unforgettable Strength in Style fashion show, held in the stunning surroundings of Bath Abbey.

The event – a powerful celebration of resilience, fashion, and community – brought together individuals affected by cancer or life-limiting illness to walk the runway and share their personal journeys with courage and pride.

CHSW was proud to see families it supports, as well as members of its care team, and volunteers take part as models in the show, demonstrating extraordinary strength and solidarity.

It was an incredibly moving evening

said Heidi Roberts, Area Fundraiser for CHSW.

"For our families and team to be part of such a beautiful celebration of life, strength, and community was something truly special. It was an honour to see them walk the runway with such grace and courage."

The models wore outfits from a curated selection of independent boutiques across Bath, young local designers, and a standout sustainable fashion segment, championing the creativity and impact of charity shop fashion.

The evening was about more than style—it was about shining a light on real people and real stories. Families from CHSW walked not just for themselves, but for the countless others navigating similar journeys of challenge, love, and hope.

Dana Mckee, mum of 6 year old Zeniah who is supported by the hospice, spoke on the evening and shared:

"Parenting is challenging at the best of times, even with healthy children. But when you're faced with things like tube feeding or your child undergoing three heart surgeries in the first 18 months of their life, it's an incredibly tough pill to swallow."

CHSW has helped us pick up the pieces. They’ve given us the space and support to experience joy as a family again.

Funds raised from the evening will support the ongoing work of 3 charities, Children’s Hospice South West, We Get It and Dorothy House Hospice, helping ensure vital care and support continues for those who need it most.
