A Bristol school hosted a summer concert by one of the city’s premiere symphony orchestras to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The New Bristol Sinfonia Orchestra wowed the crowds with its ‘Painting a Picture’ musical performance at Redmaids’ School in Westbury-on-Trym.

The evening began with a picnic in the grounds of the school. During the concert artist in residence Rob Townley created colourful abstract paintings to iconic musical pieces such as Mendlessohns ‘Hebrides Overture’ and Mussorgskys ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’. Employees at the Jones Building Group are to get on their bikes in September for the cycle ride to raise money for (CHSW). A Bristol based mortgage advisor is to make a cash donation to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) for every new mortgage he sells

Adam Wells, of Adam Wells Mortgages, set up his business in June this year, after working as a Mortgage Advisor since 2009. After meeting Children’s Hospice South West’s Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser Amanda Gallagher at a business networking event and visiting CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice in Wraxall, Adam decided he wanted to support the charity.

He will donate £10 for every mortgage secured for his clients to the organisation.

An education centre in Plymouth has taken part in an exciting challenge for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) - developing their entrepreneurial skills and at the same time raising money for a brilliant cause!

A group of Learners at ‘Eat That Frog’ in Mutley were given £20 each and challenged with coming up with ways of using this to raise funds for the charity.

They bought ingredients and materials and got baking and making! They ran a tuck shop, made bracelets, sold homemade dog treats, treated staff to breakfast baps... just some of the inspiring ways they worked together to make

On Saturday 13 July, the Cornish Mini Club visited Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Little Harbour hospice.

They presented a cheque of £1,400, which is their largest donation to the charity to date.

Cornish Mini Club members vote to nominate charities to support each year, and this year they chose CHSW alongside Cornwall Blood Bikes.

The club raised the funds at the Riviera Run at Pentewan Sands Holiday Park on the early May Bank Holiday weekend by holding events such as a raffle, stereo and exhaust sound off competitions, an evening quiz, Show and Shine competitions and a glow show

Ian Nash and his daughter Charlie, 12, completed a sponsored 11-mile cycle ride from their home in Nailsea to Ian’s mum’s house in Lower Weare, raising an incredible £1250 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). A boy from Plymouth held a ‘design a t-shirt’ competition in aid of the children’s hospice that supports his family.

Tommy, aged 9, wanted to fundraise for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), the charity that was there for his family when his younger brother Jack died.

Tommy and his school, Pennycross Primary, organised a competition to design a t-shirt for the charity’s bear mascot.

Representatives from the charity, and the bear, attended an assembly at the school to launch the competition, and the children were given a month to submit their designs.

Members of the Tamar Restoration and Engineering Club (TREC) handed over a donation of £5000 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW)

TREC was initially formed in 2017, when retired friends came together to restore an old tractor that was gathering dust in a barn belonging to one of the members.

The restoration bought the old Nuffield tractor back to life. Proud of their achievement and with a new found camaraderie through the close working relationship, the group enthusiastically tackled their next project, a Land Rover renovation.

A mum is to take to the fashion catwalk to raise money for the children’s hospice which has proved ‘game-changing’ for her disabled daughter.

Laura Hobbs-Wall will be modelling at the ‘Strength in Style’ Fashion Show in Bath in September alongside her 14-year-old daughter Amelie. The show, being held at Bath’s Assembly Rooms on 26 September, will raise money for 3 causes - Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), Dorothy House and cancer support charity We Get It.

A Cornish garden is opening in aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Lavethan Manor Garden at Blisland, will be open for visitors to enjoy from 2pm - 5pm on 11 August for just £6 entry.

There will be light musical entertainment at 3pm (weather permitting) and refreshments will also be available to purchase.
