Motorbiking Santas to hit the road and raise vital funds for children’s hospice

Hundreds of motorbiking Santas will be making their way through Devon to Cornwall on Saturday 7 December to raise festive cheer in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The ride to the charity’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell starts at Lee Mill Industrial Estate at 12:25pm and will pass through Ivybridge, Saltash, Liskeard, Lostwithiel and St Austell.

The bikers can gather at Lee Mill from 11am, and members of the public are welcome to join and support the bikers as they arrive.
Spectators can watch the bikers along the route, but are asked not to come to the finish

CHSW and Goonvean celebrate first year of partnership

More than £23,000 has been raised in the first year of a regional partnership between Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and The Goonvean Group of Companies.

Goonvean are an established UK private family investment group and this year its south west based businesses have all got on board with fundraising for CHSW, a local children’s charity supporting more than 500 children through its 3 children’s hospices across the region.

Goonvean assigned Charity Champions at each of its businesses and rallied employees to get involved in a range of activities throughout the year including The 3 Peaks

Warming Partnership Supporting Children’s Hospice South West

A heating and plumbing firm in the South West has announced a new partnership with Children's Hospice South West (CHSW), pledging support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the region.

Custom Heat South West, a leading provider of heating solutions across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, has committed to a comprehensive support programme for CHSW. This initiative will include not only financial contributions but also active fundraising efforts.

The partnership will be officially igniting this autumn, where Custom Heat South West will be launching an initiative

Blues trio to play charity gig for CHSW

Music lovers are being invited to a special gig in Somerset to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW)

The gig, organised by CHSW supporter Robin Bendall, will see popular blues and funk band The Will Edmunds Trio take to the stage of Enmore Golf Club near Bridgwater on November 22 from 7.30pm.

The trio is currently touring with American blues legend Walters Trout and will make a special stop off in Somerset for the fundraising gig.

Tickets are £12 in advance or £15 on the door and optional food is available on the night between 7.30pm and 9pm at £10 a head.

Family and friends of a disabled teenager are to join hundreds of bikers for a charity ride to raise money for the children’s hospice which supports him.

14 year old Logan and his family have been supported by Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) at Charlton Farm since he was a baby.

Hundreds enjoy emotional moonlight charity walk for local children’s hospice

More than 270 people took part in an emotional night-time charity walk at The Lost Gardens of Heligan on Saturday 9 November.

Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Moonlight Memory Walk took place at the gardens in Pentewan near St Austell.

The event has raised £32,000 for the charity, with money still coming in, which runs the Little Harbour children’s hospice in nearby Porthpean.

As plans start to ramp up for the festive season thoughts quickly turn to presents. However a new partnership recently announced, between Taste of the West and Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), hopes to be able to solve gifting conundrums for friends and family in just a few clicks.

A range of artisan charity Christmas hampers, stocked full of award-winning, local produce is on sale now. For each hamper sold, 10% will be donated to local children’s charity CHSW.

Festive cars to add to the fun at Santas on the Run

Fun loving Tracie Skinner will be taking her special ‘Festive Fiat’ back on the road this Christmas to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Tracie, dressed in her festive garb, will be getting behind the wheel of her ‘Santa Car’ this December. The car, which Tracie has owned since the age of 16, is a well-known sight on the roads of Somerset and Bristol in the run up to Christmas.

“When people see it, it always raises a smile,” said Tracie. “It really brightens peoples’ day and motorists always beep, wave or flash their lights.”

Fire crews in 'Everest' ladder climb to raise funds for CHSW

Firefighters climbed the equivalent height of Mount Everest – to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.

Crew members from Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) climbed a fire engine ladder an impressive 1,301 times – equivalent to the distance of the world’s highest mountain – and raised £2564.

The charity event, which took place at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway on Saturday, 26 October, saw firefighters from Clevedon, Portishead, Weston-super-Mare, Avonmouth, Kingswood, Patchway, Bath, Yatton, Paulton, Temple, and Yate take part in order to raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West

Brother's 'summer of fundraising' to support hospice

A football mad youngster organised a summer of fundraising events to raise money to buy equipment for the children’s hospice which supports his brother.

Max raised an incredible £851 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) to buy sporting equipment to be used by other families at the charity’s Charlton Farm children’s hospice in Wraxall.
