Local business supports Moonlight Memory Walk

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is excited to announce it has opened a new shop this week in Cranbrook.

The new shop has something for everyone with a range of goods on offer, including quality women’s, men’s and children’s clothing and accessories, as well as children’s toys and games, books, media and bric-a-brac.

CHSW appeal for bucket collectors at Shepton Mallet Carnival

Fundraisers at a children’s hospice are calling for volunteers to ‘join the fun’ and help them collect money at this year’s Shepton Mallet Carnival.

The carnival, which takes place on November 13, is one of the seven colourful parades organised by the Somerset County Guy Fawkes Carnival Association (SCGFCA) across the county.

Stars from the music industry are preparing to return to the stage in Somerset for a special Christmas charity concert.

Students at a Somerset dance school put on an end of year concert to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Members of Little Dancers Bath, supported by pupils from local schools and members of the Bath Light Operatic Group (BLOG), delighted a packed audience at the Dragonfly Theatre at Writhlington School with ballet and modern dance performances.

Younger dancers wowed the crowd with a ballet performance to Little April Showers while the older students showcased their skills to music from the Barbie Film and the Greatest Showman.

A former Army Sergeant Major is to walk, row or run 11 miles a day for 11 days in the run up to Remembrance Day to raise money for the charity he works for.

Businesspeople face spell 'behind bars' to support CHSW

Business people from across Bristol are to face a spell behind bars – to raise money for charity.

The van load of ‘prisoners’ from businesses across the area are taking part in Jail and Bail which will see them ‘jailed’ for a series of fictitious crimes to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.

The ‘prisoners’, all wearing orange prison boiler suits, will be taken to the Old Bridewell Police Station in Bristol on October 25 where they will be charged with their crimes before being fingerprinted and having their mugshots taken.

Rosie the 'Christmas' pony's special gift to children's hospice

Students at a Bristol school have raised more than £1,000 for a children’s hospice as a thank you to a little pony which used to visit them each Christmas.

Rosie the pony has been a regular visitor each Christmas to The Downs Preparatory School in Wraxall since 2011, attending festive assemblies. Rosie is owned by Gill Impey whose daughter used to attend the school.

Gogglebox favourite Marina retires from fundraising for CHSW

Former Gogglebox star Marina Wingrove is to step back from her fundraising work – after raising £41,000 for good causes.

Marina has been a keen supporter of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) over the years, raising £11,396 for the charity from events including coffee mornings, afternoon teas and Christmas fairs.

Now Marina, who rose to fame on the Channel 4 TV show alongside her friend Mary Cook, has put away her best china and, after a 17 year stint of fundraising, has hosted her last ever coffee morning.

Musicians record charity CD in memory of Phoebe

A husband and wife singing duo has recorded a single to raise money for a children’s hospice in memory of a little girl who was cared for by the charity.

Claire and Dean have recorded their own version of the song ‘Special’, originally written by ska and reggae band The Dualers. The single is raising money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) in memory of Phoebe who was supported by the charity.

Phoebe, was first referred to CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice in Wraxall when she was just 3 years-old. She was supported by the team at Charlton Farm until she died aged 7 earlier this year.
