Following 5 years of restoration, the Lord Oliver Brown steam locomotive is well and truly back in action after being lovingly restored by friends and family of Oliver Brown, an 11-year-old boy from Plymouth who died from a rare blood cancer in 2019.
After founding the charity with his late wife Jill in 1991, and following 20 years as Chief Executive, Co-Founder and former CEO Eddie Farwell has handed over the reins to the charity's new CEO.
In late 2024, Eddie Farwell announced his plans to retire with a heartfelt letter to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) supporters and on 17 March 2025 Phil Morris steps into the role of CEO at CHSW.

A Cornish castle is opening on Sunday 23 March in aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Pentillie Castle in Saltash will be opening its gardens for visitors to enjoy from 11am to 5pm for £7.50 entry.

The team at The Channel Partnership are taking on an exciting challenge this spring. On Saturday 5 April, they’ll be hiking up the iconic Pen Y Fan to raise vital funds for their long-time partner charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
