Garden lovers are invited to 2 special open garden events this August, with all proceeds supporting families cared for by Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

On Sunday 16 August, from 11am to 3pm, visitors can discover Mitchell Fruit Garden, nestled in the heart of Cornwall just off the A30 at Mitchell, Newquay.

Well known for its pick-your-own fruit experience the garden also features a stunning sub-tropical planting scheme and colourful sunflower field and is run by award-winning garden designer Kim Parish.

Kim hopes to establish Mitchell Fruit Garden as a cultural hub, creating a space where people can enjoy gardening, nature and community activities.

Kim, as well as Kevin Smith from The Cornish Rose Company, will be delivering talks on the day which will be undercover, ensuring they go ahead whatever the weather. 

The following weekend, on Saturday 22 August 11am to 3pm, visitors can explore the beautiful Rose Morran Garden in Talskiddy, St Columb.

The property and gardens extend to approximately an acre and showcases a rich variety of shrubs and trees interplanted with perennials, providing year-round interest and seasonal displays.

Families are particularly welcome, with every child attending receiving their own free plant to take home.

Both open garden events provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of Cornwall’s finest gardens while helping raise vital funds for CHSW.

Whether you're passionate about gardening, looking for family-friendly activities or simply hoping to enjoy a summer day surrounded by nature, these 2 open gardens promise inspiration, relaxation and the chance to support an important local cause.

Refreshments and plants will be available to purchase at both gardens, with 100% of admission feed going directly to CHSW. Entry to the gardens costs just £6 per person.
