Taunton Firewalk promises evening of red-hot fundraising fun
Fearless fundraisers are being invited to take part in Taunton’s ‘hottest and shortest’ charity walk.
The Firewalk on Castle Green on November 24 is being held to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and will be led by two-time firewalk Guinness World Record breaker Scott Bell.
Scott, who is internationally known as one of the world’s leading experts on firewalking, will be on hand to help participants navigate a path of hot coals at temperatures of 1,200˚F in bare feet.
The event was originally scheduled to take place in March but the charity moved the date due to the pandemic. 
CHSW event fundraiser Kate Romo said: “Everyone who booked a place for the March firewalk has been automatically transferred to this new date but there are still a few spaces left for anyone else wanting to take part an unforgettable evening that will challenge your perceptions and push your boundaries.
“It’s the hottest, shortest sponsored walk you will ever do and a fantastic opportunity to get together with friends or work colleagues and do something very special to help provide vital care for local children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Early-bird tickets are now on sale at just £25 but get in quick as places are limited.
All participants will receive a free firewalk T-shirt and are asked to try to raise £100 in sponsorship, money that will help CHSW provide vital care and support for families at its three children’s hospices – Little Bridge House near Barnstaple, Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Harbour in St Austell.
The firewalk starts at 7pm following a training and safety briefing, with photos and presentations after. Early-bird tickets are available until October 31. Book here
