New shop to open in Bradley Stoke

New-Nailsea-CHSW-shop

Children’s Hospice South West will be opening the charity's newest shop in Bradley Stoke at 10.30am on Friday, August 16.

The new shop, based in the Willow Brook Centre, will offer a range of goods, including women’s, men’s and children’s clothing and accessories, as well as children’s toys and games and homewares.

Every item sold will help the charity to offer vital care and respite to more than 500 children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.

Shop Manager Simon George said: “I’m really looking forward to the shop opening and being at the heart of the community in Bradley Stoke.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer some fantastic pre-loved items and give them the chance to be loved again, all while raising money for such a special charity, helping to support our three children’s hospices in North Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

“However you are able to support us in the store, whether that’s shopping with us or by volunteering or dropping off donations, please stop by and say hello, you’ll be assured a very warm welcome.”

CHSW relies almost entirely on voluntary contributions and the ‘whole family’ care provided includes short breaks and respite; specialist palliative care; a sibling service; emergency support, end-of-life care; and bereavement support for as long as is needed.

The charity is also on the look-out for some enthusiastic volunteers to help run the new shop. There’s a variety of tasks that people can do to help make a difference, from processing stock received from donations, to creating window displays, dressing mannequins and processing payments.

CHSW volunteer retail advisor Stephanie Robey said: “It’s a great way to meet other people and really help to make a difference in the local community.”

Anyone interested in finding out more about volunteering, can call Stephanie on 01271 313 319.

Stock donations to the new shop are welcome and items can be dropped off at the shop anytime between 9am and 5pm, or alternatively call 01275 866600 to arrange collections of large items.
