Land Rover Restoration Results in Charity Donation

Members of Tamar Restoration and Engineering Club hand over their donation to Zoe from CHSW

The Tamar Restoration and Engineering Club based between Saltash and Callington have recently handed over a donation of £500 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) following the completion of the restoration of a Land Rover.

The club fully restored an old Land Rover which, once back to its former glory, was exported to Ireland. Instead of taking payment for projects such as this the club collect money for local charities which this time round included CHSW.

Zoe Partridge, Community Fundraiser for CHSW collected the donation on behalf of the charity and said “It was fascinating to hear about all of the work that went into restoring the Land Rover.

We are delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of the money raised and I have invited the members of the club to come down to Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell to see how their donation will directly help the families we support.

CHSW has three children’s hospices in the south west including Little Harbour in St Austell which offers short breaks and respite to children with life limiting illnesses and their families. The hospice also provides end of life care and bereavement support and has to raise over £3 million a year to cover running costs.

If you are part of a group which supports local charities and would like to find out more about how your donations could help CHSW then please call Zoe on 07500 081971 or click here to find out more about the care and support that CHSW provides.
