Kier Infrastructure has supported Children's Hospice South West for more than a decade
For around 12 years, teams from Kier Infrastructure have volunteered their time and expertise to help maintain the hospice’s pumping station, a vital part of the site’s infrastructure that helps keep facilities running safely and reliably for families staying at the hospice.
Reece Clayton, Project Engineer at Kier Infrastructure, said:
Kier Infrastructure has supported Little Bridge House for around 12 years, helping to maintain the pumping station and ensure its reliable operation. This includes carrying out full pumping station surveys, inspecting pumps and level controls, undertaking electrical testing on the control panel, and checking associated components and rising main pipework. Kier Infrastructure also provides a 24-hour call-out service for reactive issues on site, while Clear-flow supports with cleaning the pumping station and external gullies and drains
While much of this work happens behind the scenes, it plays an important role in helping families spend precious time together in a safe and comfortable environment.
Gary Hatch, Site Manager at Little Bridge House, said: “A massive thank you to Reece and his team for once again visiting Little Bridge House to inspect and service the operation of our pumping station. This isn’t the most glamorous of jobs, but it’s totally essential that this continues to function properly 24/7 so families can stay with us and get essential rest and support. Your annual visits are vital, and it is extremely generous that you continue to do this free of charge, as well as Clear-flow. This saves us a considerable amount of money that we can use in other ways at the hospice. We hugely appreciate your kindness and expertise.”
Support from partners like Kier Infrastructure and Clear-flow helps Children’s Hospice South West continue providing specialist care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.
CHSW extends its sincere thanks to everyone involved for their continued support of Little Bridge House and the families it cares for.
