Keynsham Chicks keep knitting!
The group are dedicated to raising vital funds for CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice which supports families from the local area whose children have been diagnosed with life-limiting conditions. These funds bring the total raised by the group to over £11,000 in 3 years.
The group of women from Keynsham and the surrounding area are well known for producing beautifully knitted chicks which they stuff with Easter eggs. At the end of 2019 they increased their fundraising by knitting Christmas boots with chocolates inside. The Chicks sell the items at Christmas Fairs across the area and many shop owners also sell the knitted goods on their behalf.
Frances Kenneally, Community Fundraiser at CHSW said: “We are so grateful to the Keynsham Chicks for their enthusiasm and hard work in fundraising for our charity. The results have been tremendous and we’d like to thank all the members of the knitting group for their dedication, particularly Margaret Thompson who puts in a great deal of work as co-ordinator. It was our pleasure to show the ladies the facilities we have here at Charlton Farm and to show them the difference their fundraising makes to the families we support.”
Each of CHSW hospices opens its doors once a month and tours of the facility should be booked in advance. Click Here to book.
