Highway to Well Charity Motorcycle Ride

Highway to Well motorcycle ride

Israel Stanway from Goldsithney, assistant Pastor at Light and Life Free Methodist Church in Hayle, is swapping his collar for leathers as he is organising a charity motorcycle ride from Marazion to Lands End.

The ride is taking place on 18 September and will be raising vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year.

Anyone wishing to take part should meet at the Station House in Marazion at 10am on the 18 September, where the ride will leave from. Participation will cost £10 per bike which will be donated straight to CHSW, the charity which runs Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.

Israel has been a keen motorcyclist for the past 19 years, has owned over 40 motorbikes and has also worked as a motorbike mechanic, however his faith is the driving force behind everything he does.

Reflecting on the support Little Harbour children’s hospice offers to children and families Israel says;

They do amazing work at Little Harbour, when we think of a hospice we think of end of life care, and yes they do that, but such a large percentage of what they do is more focused on wellness.

Little Harbour offers a place for families to relax and recharge their batteries, children with long term conditions are cared for and siblings and parents looked after too. Its honestly incredible how much they help the whole family in so many ways.

For this reason, I wanted to arrange this ride, not only to raise funds for them, but raise awareness of how much more they do than end of life care. This is the reason behind the name Highway to Well.  It’s just such a good cause for the biking community to rally behind and support.”

Alice Merrett, Area Fundraiser for CHSW said “We were delighted that Israel had chosen CHSW to benefit from this charity ride and his passion to raise awareness of what we do as well as raise vital funds is fantastic. We hope lots of the biking community get involved.”
