Auntie’s brave New Year head shave in support of niece Gracie

Christine Harper and Carol Bridgeman will be doing a head shave in support of Christine’s niece

An auntie and her neighbour will be starting the New Year by losing their locks to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Christine Harper and Carol Bridgeman, from Chard, will be hoping to raise £1,000 by doing a sponsored head shave at The Choughs Hotel on Friday (January 7).

Christine’s niece Gracie has ataxia telangiectasia, a rare inherited disorder that affects the nervous and immune system. Gracie and her family are given respite support by CHSW’s Little Bridge House hospice in Devon.

Christine said: “I wanted to do something to help the children’s hospice as I have been so impressed by the care and support that they give to Gracie and our family.”

Gracie will be there on the day to help shave the heads of her brave auntie Christine and her friend Carol, with the help of hairdresser Caroline, from Sizztors in Chard.
