The Exeter announced as headline sponsor of Exeter Rainbow Run

The Exeter will be the headline sponsor at Rainbow Run 2019

Children’s Hospice South West is delighted to announce that local insurance company, The Exeter, will be joining forces with the charity at its colour-tastic Exeter Rainbow Run.

The healthcare and protection insurance specialist will be the headline sponsor at the charity’s flagship summer fundraising event at Westpoint Exeter on June 22.

Anyone aged five and above can take part in the fun, billed ‘the happiest, most colourful 5k around’. Participants run, jog or walk through colourful bursts of powder paint at special colour stations set up around the course.

Rainbow Run will raise vital funds for CHSW, which provides free care for more than 500 families across the South West. The charity needs around £10million a year to run its three hospices, including Little Bridge House in Devon, and around 85 per cent of that comes though fundraising.

Sponsorship from The Exeter will help cover event costs, meaning that the money raised in sponsorship by those taking part can go straight towards the care provided by the charity.

The company, which is based at Exeter Business Park, insures against the impact of ill health by offering income protection, private medical insurance and life insurance plans. As part of its support as headline sponsor, staff will be manning the yellow paint station at this year’s Rainbow Run, one of five stations that participants will run through.

Becky Penrose, chairman of The Exeter’s community and charity committee, said the company was throwing its support behind the charity this year. Healthcare and protection insurance specialist The Exeter will be the headline sponsor at Children’s Hospice South West's 2019 Exeter Rainbow Run. “Children’s Hospice South West was nominated and voted by our staff to be our 2019 charity of the year,” she said.

“We are keen to arrange lots of our own fundraising events but also to support the charity’s external events too. Rainbow Run is a great local, family event and we are looking forward to getting covered in paint and having lots of fun on the day.”

Andy Chapman, CEO of The Exeter, added: “Children’s Hospice South West is an incredible charity, supporting children and their families. During what is a very emotional time, the charity provides a place where children can spend their time with other children and their families, surrounded with love and laughter.

We are thrilled to be sponsors of the Rainbow Run and look forward to a year of fundraising and awareness raising for Children’s Hospice South West.

Mhairi Bass-Carruthers, corporate partnerships fundraiser at CHSW said: “We’re delighted to have the support of The Exeter throughout 2019 and can’t wait to get them involved in the fun at this year’s Rainbow Run.

“Their sponsorship means that we can not only make this a brilliant event to remember for all those taking part, but will also ensure that the money raised does even more to provide vital respite to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.”
