Businesses Help Bring Festive Magic to Santas on a Train
Local businesses are helping Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) create a magical Christmas experience for families by sponsoring this year’s Santas on a Train event at Plym Valley Railway.
The festive fun run invites participants to board the Lord Oliver Brown steam locomotive and enjoy Christmas entertainment on the journey up the track to the start line. Along the 3k route back there will be themed stations including snow, a selfie with the elf, sweets and treats and festive songs, and Santa will be ready to meet little ones at the finish line.
AtkinsRéalis is returning for a second year as headline sponsor, while Collins Aerospace is once again sponsoring the popular Treat Station. Tamar Coaches are supporting the much-loved Snow Station and Collins Seafood are supporting the festive Song Station.
The untimed event is designed for all ages and abilities, with participants encouraged to complete the route at their own pace while raising vital funds for families supported by CHSW, including those cared for at Little Harbour in St Austell.
Kiley Pearce, Events Fundraiser for CHSW, said:
We're incredibly grateful to AtkinsRéalis, Collins Aerospace, Tamar Coaches and Collins Seafood for helping bring Santas on a Train to life. Their support enables us to create a memorable festive event while raising vital funds to support local families.
Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £35 per person or £93 per family in sponsorship.
