Brakes Spreads Festive Cheer with Generous Donations to Little Harbour
Little Harbour recently welcomed a heart-warming gesture from Brakes, a leading food distributor, whose generosity will make this Christmas extra special for babies, children, young people and families supported by the hospice.
Following a visit from team member Daley to Little Harbour in October, Brakes were keen to support the children’s hospice however they could. The depot had voted to support a local charity at Christmas with a food donation, and they chose Little Harbour. Daley had a tour of the hospice from the Care Team.
Following this Brakes has make a donation of £2000 worth of goods, including frozen, ambient and chilled food items, as well as essential non-food supplies such as knives and tea towels. The dream wish list that Little Harbour’s kitchen team had come up with was fulfilled it in its entirety by Brakes.
Of the total donation, £1,300 worth of goods came directly from Brakes, with the remainder contributed by their dedicated staff. But the kindness didn’t stop there. Team members from across the South West also purchased gifts for the children, including Play-Doh, arts and crafts materials, fidget toys and sensory items, which will all bring joy and creativity to festive celebrations.
Inspired by their visit, Brakes staff even put up their depot Christmas tree early, inviting donors to add their names to the tree, a touching gesture that mirrors Little Harbour’s memory tree in its Karensa room.
