09 April 2026 CHSW

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is hosting an open garden at the historic Boconnoc Estate in Lostwithiel on Sunday 10 May, with all proceeds supporting the charity’s vital care.

From 2pm–5pm, visitors are invited to enjoy a relaxed afternoon wandering through landscaped gardens. There will be clearly signposted accessible routes ensuring that everyone can take in the tranquillity of this remarkable Cornish estate.

This family friendly fundraising event promises to be a memorable day out with something for visitors of all ages to enjoy. There will be live performances from a local sea shanty group as well as the opportunity to see a popular miniature train display offering something fun and nostalgic.

A selection of homemade cakes, hot and cold drinks and traditional cream teas will be available, with all proceeds supporting the specialist care CHSW provides for babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families.

Families are encouraged to come and enjoy this relaxed fundraising event, with garden games, open spaces and plenty to explore. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome throughout the garden areas. Parking is free on site, and both cash and card payments will be accepted on the day.

Sarah- Jane Hoskin, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, said:

We are incredibly grateful to the Boconnoc Estate for allowing us to host this wonderful event in their beautiful gardens. Events like this not only raise essential funds but also help shine a light on the specialist care we provide for families across the South West. We hope the people of Cornwall will join us for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon in a stunning setting.
