Barnstaple engineering firm takes up the fundraising challenge for children’s hospice

Jason Legg of Aero Stanrew presents a cheque for £8,712.04 to Children’s Hospice South West

Staff at Aero Stanrew in Barnstaple have raised nearly £9,000 for Children’s Hospice South West.

Nine teams at the engineering firm at Roundswell, a division of TT Electronics, were challenged to take part in a month of fundraising in August.

Efforts included a Mexican chilli day, prize draw and cream tea, as well as bucket collections at the North Devon Show, Okehampton show, Hatherleigh show, at Tesco Barnstaple, Asda Bideford and after each show at Circus Wonderland in Barnstaple.

Staff also donated ‘fines’ from a swear box and with matched company funding, the teams raised a total of £8712.04 for their local Little Bridge House children's hospice.

CHSW provides respite breaks, end of life and palliative care, and support for families through bereavement and beyond. It costs more than £10 million to run the charity’s three very special hospices in DevonNorth Somerset and Cornwall, most of which comes from fundraising and donations.

Why not challenge your workplace to raise money for CHSW? Our £50 Challenge is a great way to promote teamwork and entrepreneurial skills while helping to raise vital funds for the charity.
