Colin Hale with medals
Colin Hale is an avid runner and all round fundraising fanatic
In 2023 he ran his 37th Bath Half Marathon and chose to run for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

He has seen many changes to the race over the years, with the biggest being the year he arrived and was shocked to find out that he and other competitors would be running the race in reverse!

Colin is always going the extra mile with supporting different charities far and wide; he estimates he has raised over £80,000 for charities over many years of fundraising.

Colin says the 1 thing that keeps him going along the route is the array of different running vests worn by runners supporting charities, both locally and nationally.

Colin added: “A huge thank you to CHSW and all the other organisations involved with running the Bath Half event. I have loved running for Bath Half all 36 times so far – and look forward to the next.

The wonderful spirit of the day proves how great a community we have in Bath and Bristol areas, always bringing people together.

A highlight of my day was seeing the cheer bus and CHSW team stationed outside Bath FM.”

North Somerset’s Charlton Farm provides care and support to families who have children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The hospice provides services including specialist palliative care, family respite, emergency support, end of life care and a bereavement service.

Heidi Roberts, Area Fundraiser at CHSW said:

Colin is just amazing!

"His fundraising efforts do not go unnoticed and we are grateful of the awareness he is raising for CHSW. His support has, and will continue to, make a real difference to the children and young people with life-limiting conditions using our hospices.”
