Dylan's Fun Run for CHSW
9 year old Dylan organised a sponsored fun run

9 year old Dylan Prior from Ivybridge organised a 1 mile fun run at Filham Park in Ivybridge and raised a total of £456 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Over 50 children and adults came along to take part in the run and £300 was raised on the day from entries and a raffle, with a further £156 raised through Dylan’s online fundraising page. This beat Dylan’s expectations of raising £100 by a long way.

Dylan was inspired to raise money for CHSW after someone from the charity visited his school and spoke about the work of the charity and the children and families that it supports. Dylan chose CHSW because he felt that the charity gives families a good experience and he was also inspired by events his mum has helped to organise at Trevi House residential rehab centre.

Zoe Partridge, Community Fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West said

Dylan’s fun run was such a great event and it was wonderful to see so many children and adults coming together to raise funds for CHSW which supports so many local families from the area. It is always incredibly heart-warming to hear of children wanting to fundraise to help other children and Dylan did fantastically well to organise such a brilliant event and raise so much money.

Thanks go to all the local businesses for donating raffle prizes as well Roger from F3E Fitness in Wrangaton Business Park for doing the warm up and compering the event. Roger was a great support on the day and the event couldn’t have run without him. Dylan is already planning to organise another charity fun run next year.
