Location: Charlton Farm, Wraxall Near Bristol | Department: Hospice | Vacancy Type: Voluntary | Start date:  Immediate


The role

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Volunteer Drivers to help transport children, young people, and their families to and from our hospices, medical appointments, and community activities. This vital role ensures that families can access the care and support they need, relieving some of the stress and logistical challenges they face.

Key responsibilities:

  • Safely transport children, young people, and their families to and from CHSW hospices and other necessary locations.
  • Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle as required.
  • Ensure the vehicle is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Provide a friendly, supportive, and empathetic presence during journeys.
  • Communicate effectively with the CHSW team regarding schedules and any issues that arise.

What we're looking for:

  • A full, clean driving license.
  • A minimum of two years of driving experience.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, empathetic nature.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of the families.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and training.
