Celebrate a smile worth remembering with a SMILE tribute page

A place for your Special Memories In Love Everlasting

Create a lasting memory of your loved one with your favourite photos, personalised messages, videos, music and stories to share with family and friends.  You can also choose to remember their smile with a gift of kindness, by raising vital funds in their name for Children’s Hospice South West, which can be collected and recorded on the page. Together, we can make the most of short and precious lives.

  • You can use your SMILE tribute to pass on information about your loss, details of the funeral and funeral collections, or other important messages.
  • You can personalise your tribute by using words, images, music or video clips; it's your place to express and cherish your memories.
  • Your SMILE tribute is also a place for family and friends to send their thoughts and you can invite them to contribute as much or as little as you wish. You can tailor access to your tribute, keeping it private or inviting selected friends and family or making it accessible to the public. The privacy of your SMILE tribute, and therefore your memories, is entirely up to you.
  • A SMILE tribute will also allow you to record and keep your own private bereavement diary and listen to your own music playlist.

Create your SMILE tribute

Using your SMILE tribute to support Children's Hospice South West

You can use your SMILE tribute to raise precious funds for Children’s Hospice South West directly, perhaps for an anniversary or at special and poignant times of the year such as birthdays or at Christmas. This can be done, very simply, by setting up a regular donation, at these specific times of the year. Please ask us if you would like help with this.

Your SMILE tribute can also be used to incorporate any of the fundraising you do in support of Children’s Hospice South West, so that you can see how much you have helped to raise as a total, over a longer duration. From a sponsored event, such as a memory walk or skydive to raising money through a cake sale – a lasting tribute to show how you have helped raise funds in memory of a loved one and how this has helped us to continue caring for other families and their loved ones.

A SMILE tribute page is a special space which can be personalised to reflect your loved one’s life and personality as a lasting memory .  It can be shared with family and friends to reminisce by adding pictures, memories, and stories. A place to mark birthdays, anniversaries and milestones.  You can also celebrate their life with a gift of kindness by raising funds to help make the most of short and precious lives.

Your SMILE tribute page can be personalised in many ways:  selecting a theme for the page, adding personalised text, videos, pictures and music, to represent your loved one’s life, interests and personality.

Celebrate anniversaries, birthdays and milestones by adding virtual gifts (Children’s Hospice South West has a selection of unique personalised gifts), lighting a candle, adding a message or by changing the look and tone of the page.

Anyone you share a page with can add an item but it will always need to be approved by the page guardian.

  • Photos need to be either .jpg, .png, or .gif
  • Music needs to be the main .mp3 format
  • Video needs to be .avi, .mpeg, .mpg, .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .mv4 or .flv or .3gp

You can set your page to ‘public’ or ‘private’.  We recommend setting to ‘public’ so that family and friends can find comfort reminiscing together by adding pictures, thoughts and stories.  Your page can be shared via Facebook, Twitter or email and you can also add people to the page as tribute guardians.

Any donations which have been made in memory of your loved one directly to Children’s Hospice South West can be added to your SMILE tribute page as offline donations.  You can go to settings and ‘my donations’ and click ‘add offline donations’ to record these.

Yes, your SMILE tribute page is an easy way to collect donations at a loved one’s funeral.  Once created, you can add the page link and QR code to their order of service for people to make donations.  QR codes can be requested by emailing inmemory@chsw.org.uk

You can amend your page from ‘public’ to ‘private’ at any time or change the tribute guardian details.
