Your registration fee covers the cost of putting on the event and includes a full Santa suit and a medal to say thank you for taking part. As this is a sponsored event we ask that you try to raise sponsorship to support the vital care Children’s Hospice South West provides.

Yes of course! If you are in any doubt as to whether the route will be suitable please do get in touch. A named carer can also assist a disabled entrant for free, please call your local fundraising office to register their details.

Whilst it's called Santas on the Run, you don’t have to run! You can jog, walk or even skip your way to the finish line - so please go with what you are most comfortable with.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for running in under your Santa suit with a well-fitting pair of trainers.

Unfortunately if the back marshal has already departed you will be unable to take part in the run for health and safety reasons. So please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to register and get into your Santa suit!

The British weather is notoriously unpredictable so keep an eye on the forecast and bring waterproofs if it’s looking dodgy as the Santa suits are not waterproof!

You can collect your suit on the day of the event. Your fundraising pack will give details on when registration opens at your event.

Alternatively, if you are attending the Bristol event, you can attend a Charlton Farm open day and collect your suit then. Visit our hospice open days page for more information on how to book a place.

Of course! Our suits come in an adult and child one size so many people cut the legs to be shorter or roll up the arms to make the suits more fitting.  Some Santas even add tinsel and baubles too!

Don’t forget that your running number must be worn at all times though, please secure it with safety pins to your Santa suit. We also suggest bringing a belt with you to the event to ensure your suit stays in place when you’re running.

Dogs are welcome to join in at Bristol Harbourside, although we do not supply canine Santa suits, so feel free to get creative! Dogs are allowed into the Eden Project, but are not permitted to take part in the event and will need to remain with family or friends who are spectating during the race. Please keep them on their tinsel covered leads at all times. Dogs are not permitted into RHS Garden Rosemoor.

Unfortunately there are no facilities and we cannot accept liability for anything you leave behind. Please bring only what you need.

We feel strongly that only those people who have paid to enter and worked hard to raise the money should take part. This is also to ensure we can carefully manage everyone’s safety. Why not encourage them to sign up and take part!

Unfortunately your place cannot be transferred. Places are also non refundable, this is in line with our event terms and conditions, however your fee will be used to enable the hospice to care for families. If you can’t now take part, please let us know.

Please read our Santas on the Run participant safety brief to ensure you are fit to take part in this event.

After signing up you will be sent a confirmation email with details of all your registrants.   At a later date you’ll receive your fundraising pack in the post, this will contain your runner number and all the information you will need for the event.

We also like to keep in touch via email, which will have fundraising hints and tips and occasionally any last minute information changes such as route changes so please provide a valid email address when signing up!

Unfortunately we are unable to transfer your place, and registration fees are non-refundable.*

*Should the event date be changed; your registration will be automatically transferred to the new date, or a refund offered on request. If you are unable to take part due to extenuating circumstances, on authorisation by the Fundraising Manager, CHSW will refund any monies relating to your registration fee, after a deduction of a £5 admin fee. Any documentation sent to you (i.e. running number) must be returned before the refund is processed.

In the unlikely event that CHSW has to cancel the event, all participants will automatically be refunded their registration fees, and any sponsorship money received by CHSW can be refunded on the request of the sponsor.

Yes, absolutely! We needs lots of volunteers to make the event safe and fun, to find out more look at our event volunteer opportunities.

Santas on the Run is a 2km fun run event with a difference! This event is all about making memories with your friends and family whilst raising money for Children's Hospice South West.

Our Santa on the Run is open to all ages – Children aged 3 years and under are free to take part. Event participants aged 5 to 15 years must be accompanied by a participating adult.

This is not a race and is more about having fun than setting a personal best. Take your time. But if you must, time your run with your own device. There are no prizes for finishing first at this run!
