Go over the edge for CHSW!
Take on this extreme challenge and abseil 220ft down England's highest waterfall, Canonteign Falls, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, offering some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in Devon.
We must emphasise that this is an extreme challenge and you will need to be physically fit to take part as the day includes a 15 to 20 minute walk up a steep ascent. You must be confident in regards to climb over a barrier at the top of the falls, dropping from heights and navigating water. The abseil is demanding so if you have a fear of heights and water, this may not be for you!
You will be provided with full instruction from a trained provider, and also given a wetsuit to wear for the abseil. All on the day information will be included in your fundraising pack which will be posted to you after you have registered.

Fundraising is a fantastic way to get involved with Children's Hospice South West and provides us with an essential source of income. Without the wonderful support of our fundraisers we would not be able to continue offering the wide range of vital services that we currently offer to our families and children.
Your registration fee covers the cost of your participation in this event but your sponsorship will help us to deliver our promise to ‘make the most of short and precious lives across the South West’. For our Abseil event we suggest a minimum of £100 sponsorship per person, however you are welcome to go over the top – the sky’s the limit!

What to bring with you
Wetsuits and safety equipment are provided on the day, you are welcome to bring your own wetsuit if you prefer. If you have a Go Pro, bring it with you, a couple of the helmets provided have mounts for you to use. Please bring swimwear to wear under your wetsuit, a towel and of course warm clothes to change into after the abseil. Long hair should be tied back and you should remove any dangly earrings/necklaces etc.
Wear an old pair of trainers or walking boots you don’t mind getting wet. You will need them to walk to the top of the waterfall, and to protect your feet on the way down!
Please arrive 1 hour before your allocated slot. This allows plenty of time for you to sign in, get kitted up, receive coaching and have plenty of practice before you abseil. You will be part of a group, so please don’t be late!
You may wish to carry water with you as you walk to the top; it’s a 220ft climb!
