We provide care at our hospices Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Mid Cornwall.
Working for Children's Hospice South West
Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) exists to make the most of short and precious lives, we provide expert holistic and family centred care for life-limited children and their families across the South West of England. This is delivered through our three hospices; Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall. Through our region-wide network of staff and supporters we raise awareness of the children and families whose needs we serve.
Our vision for the future
To be recognised regionally and nationally as a progressive centre of excellence in the care of children who are expected to die before attaining adulthood and their families through enhancing the quality and range of services offered in an efficient and sustainable way which maximises choice and access, and is carried out in partnership with others. Also sharing our expertise widely through the provision of education.
CHSW’s ethos is to ensure that everyone (Trustees and all staff) place children and families at the centre of the organisation. In order to achieve this, everyone will be expected to promote a strong, caring community environment characterised by sensitivity, consideration and responsiveness to others. CHSW will provide an excellent working environment and strive to be an employer of choice for equivalent organisations in the same sector.
Our safeguarding policy - children first and foremost
Children’s Hospice South West puts children first. Everyone working for us is absolutely committed to ensuring the comfort, well-being and safety of all the children, young people and brothers and sisters who we care for.
We are all interested in what children want from our service and will listen to their views, and those of their families, about how we can improve.
All of our staff and volunteers recognise and accept their duty to safeguard children and to protect them from harm. We will act without hesitation if we believe that the safety or well-being of any child is at risk.

Our hospice open days
Each month we open our doors to give our supporters an insight into children’s hospice life and thank our donors and volunteers for all their ongoing support.
We do not have any planned family stays at during these days and so you won’t hear the usual noise and laughter that bounces off the walls of the house but you will leave with a huge sense of enthusiasm for your local charity and a proud smile on your face.
"To be honest I really didn't know what to expect, but today has inspired me to do so much and not take my life for granted."
