It is important the Raise a simle Lottery and CHSW Raffle are a fun way to support Children's Hospice South West, but that they never have a detrimental effect. It is not usually commercially viable for most shop teams to collect donations from your home. However, collections can sometimes be arranged locally, so it's worth asking your local shop (contact details can be found on our Shopfinder). Our furniture shops (which you can also find through our Shopfinder) sometimes offer a local collection service.

All rooms are twin/triple share. If you would like to share a room with someone you know, you can enter their name on the registration form. If you don’t indicate your preferred buddy, we will allocate your room with another member of ‘Team Hike’. Women and men who are unknown to each other will not be placed in the same room.

As registration is free, we will be sending a medal to each person in your group who raises the suggested minimum sponsorship of £15. Visit our fundraising ideas section with lots of sponsorship ideas.

At the finish line we will have cleaning stations with soft brushes so that you can give yourself a good dusting off to remove most of the powder. You won’t be 100% clean but you will be able to remove most of the paint.

We recommend that you leave a towel in your car to cover your seat or spare clothes to put on top of your running gear to ensure you get as little paint as possible on your seat.

CHSW cannot be held responsible for any damage or paint getting on participants vehicles, public transport or private property.

If you opt for the minimum sponsorship method of payment, about half of the sponsorship target will be used to pay the costs of the trip, although this varies slightly for each event. If you opt for the self-funder method of payment, 100% of your fundraising will go towards Children’s Hospice South West.

Your deposit is not included towards the sponsorship target, but does go towards covering the challenge costs.

Online giving websites are an extremely effective way to easily boost your fundraising total. They work by allowing sponsors to log on to a fundraiser's unique page and sponsor them using a credit or debit card. The money from online fundraising pages (e.g. Just Giving / Virgin Money Giving) gets automatically sent through to CHSW and added to your total, so no need for paper forms!

No. Our Trustees govern the Charity on a voluntary basis.   Read more about our Board of Trustees.

In order to confirm your charity place in a race, you'll need to confirm your details with the race organisers. As a participant in the event, you'll need to agree to their terms and conditions and let them know you’re running with a charity place. If you don't complete this second stage of the registration process by the specified deadline, you won't able to take part on the day. This second part to the registration process is at no extra cost.

Long-term donations enable us to plan for the future and ensure money is available where it is needed most, so we can be there for as many families as possible.

Regular gifts mean a consistent, predictable income so we can plan and budget better, making us more efficient. It’s also more cost effective. More of your money goes to our work as they generate less administration and carry cheaper bank charges.

There are benefits for you too. A regular gift is a hassle-free way to donate, while knowing that you are helping us make the most of short and precious lives.

Yes, there are three types:

A Residuary Legacy is a percentage or share of the balance of your estate once all other payments and gifts have been made. A lot people prefer to give a residuary gift because it keeps in line with inflation and does not lose value over time.

A Pecuniary Legacy is a fixed amount of money.

A Specific Legacy can include specific items like personal possessions, land or shares.

A computerised randomly selected weekly draw takes place every Friday. Should the Friday fall on a bank holiday, the draw will be run  the day before or the next working day.

Unfortunately there are no facilities and we cannot accept liability for anything you leave behind. Please bring only what you need and are able to carry for the night.

To claim Gift Aid on your fundraising, we must have the first name or initials, last name, full home address and postcode of each individual donor/sponsor. So please encourage them to tick the Gift Aid box on your sponsorship form when they sponsor you. Without these details we legally can't claim Gift Aid - so be strict with your supporters!
