Can your company rise to the £50 Challenge in 2017?

10 August 2017 chsw Fundraising

GKN Aerospace Filton and Western Approach have been raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by rising to the £50 challenge!

CHSW’s £50 Challenge is all about companies using their business skills and innovation to generate as much money as possible for the charity. CHSW provides the initial £50 start-up investment and then it’s over to your company to raise as much as it can. This is a great way for people to put their business brain and money-making acumen to the test to grow this amount as much as legally and ethically possible.

The team that raises the most each calendar year will be honoured with the CHSW £50 Challenge trophy!

CHSW provided the GKN fundraising team with a £50 start-up investment and they had three months to turn it into a bigger sum. The GKN fundraising team consisted of Ashley Cox, Josh Connor, Georgia Rowbury, Laurence MacSwan, David Pomphrey, Leon Hasson and Natasha Dawes, all of whom worked hard to raise over £4,842 for the worthy cause by partaking in a variety of fundraising activities which included a doughnut sale, a 3-hour Fitness challenge and a site wide raffle.

Josh Connor, a member of the GKN fundraising team said, “Taking part in the challenge was a really enjoyable experience. Working in such a good team made the task even better and we were lucky to have so many committed and generous people taking part in our money making schemes!”

The GKN fundraising team visited CHSW’s Charlton Farm in Wraxall to see how the funds raised would support local children and families. Josh said, “It was wonderful to visit the hospice and see how fantastic it was and that all the money raised was going to be used in such a positive way.”

Janey Hellmen, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW said, “We’re very grateful to the GKN team who really embraced this challenge and raised a huge amount by the end of the three months. We’re not sure if anyone can top the amount raised, but we’d urge companies to give it a go!”.
