Hi, I'm Heidi, Ethan's mum,

When he was born, he suffered a catastrophic brain injury, and we were faced with a decision no parent should ever have to make; support his breathing or move him to end of life care.

CHSW has been there for us through some of the hardest and most precious moments. Your gift can help them be there for more families like mine in the South West.

Heidi and Henrietta

£25...

Could provide reassurance and comfort to parents, like me, facing a recent diagnosis

£50

could light up a child’s life with fun and laughter in a play session, helping families like mine make memories, not just at Christmas but all year round

Family time at Little Bridge House

£75

Could provide emotional support to brothers and sisters like Sofia and Arthur, helping them to understand their sibling’s condition and preparing them for the future

Little Bridge House is just an amazing place, it’s incredible how supportive it can be and how much of a lifeline it is for us. Something that’s a charity, who are there to help us, is just incredible and we are so thankful for the support of everyone.

Ethan proved to be a little fighter and against all the odds he responded to treatment and did better than anyone could have imagined. He eventually came home from hospital when he was 15 months old. Ethan is now 7.

"During the family’s hospice stays there is something to suit everyone. For 1 ½ year old Sofia, she enjoys playing with the dollies and 5 year old Arthur loves playing with the Sibling Support Team.

All those things that can probably easily get missed in day-to-day life, with having other children and taking on more of a care role. But at Little Bridge House, the care is taken from you, so we can properly be just Mum and Dad to Ethan, which is lovely—to be able to have those special moments with him.”

One of my favourite memories is visiting last Christmas. Ethan enjoyed the lights, laughed a lot and had a special visit from Father Christmas. Everything was adapted around him.
